Privacy Policy
Short version: what you type into the calculator never leaves your device. We keep a count of anonymous page events and any correction you choose to send. Nothing else.

What stays on your device
Your household size, income, rent, bills, savings and every other calculator answer are processed by JavaScript in your browser. They are not sent to us or anyone else. When you press Share, your answers are written into the link after the “#” symbol; browsers do not send that part of a link to any server, so a shared estimate cannot appear in our logs.
What we record
Our server stores two kinds of record in a database we operate on Cloudflare:
- Page events — for example “page viewed”, “calculator used”, “state chosen”, “shared”, “printed”. Each record holds the page path (never the part after “?” or “#”), the event name, a state abbreviation where relevant, a random ID created fresh on each page load and never stored on your device, the referring website’s domain (not the full address), a broad source type such as search or direct, your country as reported by our network provider, and whether the screen was phone-sized. No IP address, no user-agent string, no cookie and no calculator values. Visits from automated crawlers are discarded.
- Correction reports — when you use the contact form we store the page you were reporting about, the type of issue, your message and, only if you type one, a reply address. We do not store your IP address or browser details with it.
Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies and use no local storage for tracking. We load no third-party scripts, fonts, ads, pixels or analytics services, so no other company receives a request when you use this site.
How long we keep it
Page events are kept in aggregate form for measuring which pages and states are used. Correction reports are kept until they are resolved and then for our records of what was changed. You can ask us to delete a report you sent by submitting another report that quotes it.
Network logs
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and stop attacks, under its own privacy policy. We do not add that data to our records.
Children
The site is a general information tool and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If what we record changes, this page will say so and its verified date will change.
