What estimates leave out

Heat or electricity

USDA’s table lists two Minnesota utility amounts besides phone: $667 if you pay for heating or cooling and $235 if you pay electricity but not heat — there is no water-or-trash limited allowance. Those are October 2025 figures; the October 2026 values had not been published where we could confirm them. Choose “two or more other utilities” and tick electricity if that is what you pay.

Reporting is more varied here

Minnesota is one of the few states that uses simplified, change and monthly reporting depending on the household (FNS State Options Report), so read your approval notice for which rule applies to you. The state offers on-demand interviews and telephone signatures, and some areas had a partial time-limit waiver for adults 18–64 on October 1, 2026.

Benefits are issued between the 4th and 13th by the last digit of the case number. Minnesota’s FY2025 payment error rate was 12.58%, putting it in the 15% state-share tier from FY2028 under the 2025 law.
