SNAP · FY2027
Ohio Food Stamp Calculator
Ohio’s SNAP is supervised by the Department of Job and Family Services and run by the 88 county JFS offices; benefits load on the Ohio Direction Card. Ohio keeps the gross limit at 130% of poverty — $2,960 for three — but uses broad-based eligibility to drop the asset test and the net income test. Three people can get up to $808.

Fountain drinks off the list from November
Ohio’s approved restriction, targeting November 1, 2026, bars SNAP purchases of sugar-sweetened beverages and all fountain drinks — Ohio is the only state whose waiver singles out fountain drinks.
Even-numbered deposit days
Ohio pays on even dates from the 2nd to the 20th: a case number ending in 0 gets benefits on the 2nd, 1 on the 4th, and so on up to 9 on the 20th. Certification periods of four, six or twelve months are used, and Ohio has waivers that let it deny incomplete applications before day 30 and reinstate closed cases that turn in missing paperwork.
A Columbus family of three earning $2,600 — under the 130% line — with $850 rent plus heat would receive about $454, using the $766 heating allowance from USDA’s October 2025 table. People with past drug felonies are not disqualified. Ohio’s FY2025 payment error rate was 6.76%, which puts it in the 5% cost-share tier from FY2028.
