It is one of the stricter states: the gross limit stays at 130% ($2,960 for three) and countable assets must be under $5,000 even with broad-based eligibility. Three people can receive up to $808.

Accuracy and restrictions
Idaho had one of the lowest payment error rates in the nation in FY2025, 3.85%, which under the 2025 law means the state pays no share of benefit costs from FY2028. Idaho also restricts purchases: under a USDA-approved waiver with a February 15, 2026 target date, SNAP cannot buy soda or candy there.
Utilities and work
Idaho’s basic and single-utility allowances are the same amount — $133 in USDA’s October 2025 table — so paying one utility or several non-heating utilities gives the same deduction; heating or cooling raises it to $390. The state had not published October 2026 amounts we could verify.
Idaho runs both voluntary and mandatory employment and training, offers on-demand interviews, and uses a standard medical deduction for older and disabled households. Benefits arrive on the 1st through 10th by the last digit of the recipient’s birth year. Certification periods are six months or 24 months.
